I am planning to buy a new table and am trying to figure out what would be a reasonable cost for such a product. In this regard, I would like to know what factors influence the price of a table and what can significantly increase or, on the contrary, decrease it. I am especially interested in how the price depends on materials, complexity of design and other aspects.

I might add that the cost of the table may also depend on whether you buy it directly from a craftsman or through an intermediary, such as a furniture store. Buying from a master can be more profitable, because you exclude the markup of the store, and, in addition, you have the opportunity to order something individual. However, in any case, it is important to pay attention to the quality of materials and workmanship, as they determine how durable your table will be.
First, the material. Using rare and expensive woods such as walnut or teak can significantly increase the cost of the table. For example, live edge tables made from exotic woods often cost more because of the uniqueness of the material and the difficulty in processing it. If more affordable materials such as pine or oak are used, the price can be noticeably lower. However, even here it is worth considering that the quality and type of wood affect the final price: higher quality wood will be more expensive, but also more durable. Secondly, the complexity of the design. Simple tables with minimalist designs are usually cheaper than elaborate designs with additional elements such as carved legs or inlays. The third factor is the finish. Using quality coatings such as polyurethane or epoxy can increase the cost. The size of the table should also not be overlooked. Obviously, a larger table will require more materials and fabrication time, which will also affect its price.
